In vitro fertilization(IVF) fertilization in the outside of the human body or in the laboratory. It is the major treatment for various problems like endometriosis, PCOD, pelvic adhesions, and tube peritoneal disturbances. The process of stimulating and monitoring your ovulatory process, removing an ovum and letting sperm fertilise them in liquid in the laboratory. The fertilised egg is developed for 2-6 days and is then transferred to the uterus. This process is done with extreme precision.

Causes and factors of female infertility

There are many factors which lead to female infertility. However, this problem is classified into acquired, genetic or by location. There is no proof that there may be a particular factor for this problem it may be a combination of the factors also. No need to be afraid if you are suffering from infertility problems there are many hospitals to treat this problem.

The major factors are:

  1. Acquired factors: According to the survey conducted age, smoking, and weight issues can affect fertility in women. Let us discuss them in detail:

Age: women’s fertility is highest in their 20s and rapidly decreases in 35. There is no proof in this but is generally believed. The health of both mother and father should be proper to conceive naturally. 

Smoking: Nicotine interferes with the female hormones, embryo transport, receptivity of egg transfer etc. Smoking is harmful it may affect the ovaries and the degree of harm depends on the length of exposure to smoke. Smoking also reduces the success of treatment of IVF of giving live birth.

Weight issues: Ovulation can be prevented when a woman is underweight or overweight. Balanced weight and moderate exercise are the best ways to infertility. Women who have suffered from anorexia, nervosa, bulimia or severe obesity may have thyroid and other hormonal imbalances which can lead to irregular menstrual Patterns and other problems. Making time for moderate exercise, adequate sleep, and enjoyment with your partner is the best way to lower stress values and improve your mental and emotional health.

Chemotherapy: It is a high-risk factor for infertility. Some steroids and drugs may increase the cause of infertility.

Diabetes: If you have diabetes, it means that you are at risk for infertility mainly reflected by puberty menstrual irregularity.

  1. Genetic factors: There are many genes which lead to infertility due to mutation of the genes. There are many factors of female infertility that cannot be explained which can be accounted for by the chromosomal abnormalities. 

How to prevent infertility

    Before trying to pregnant do follow the steps to prevent infertility conditions and increase the chances of conceiving. 

Remain fit and healthy

       The major factor in reducing infertility is to remain fit and healthy. Do not practice strenuous exercises as it reduces the percentage of ovulation. Overweight and underweight women have a high risk for infertility.  So remain fit and healthy.

 Do not take stress

     Reduce stress in life before trying to become pregnant. Studies have shown that future parents experiencing stress have poor results of infertility treatment. 

Caffeine intake

     Taking less amount of caffeine will not affect the ability to get pregnant. 

Quit drinking

     The amount of alcohol intake can affect the health of the fetus. If you are planning to get pregnant, do not take alcohol and do not consume alcohol while you are pregnant. 

Stop smoking

     Nicotine has negative effects on the ovulation of women especially on the health of foetus. Quit smoking to increase the chances of pregnancy. 

Cope with infertility

    Dealing with infertility both physically and mentally is difficult. To cope with infertility there are treatments and testing. Consider these methods:

Be strong and prepared

       IVF can come under many failures that can be stressful.  So be strong and well prepared. Ask your doctor to explain the process that will help you prepare. Understanding the process may lead to less anxiety and fear. 

Exercise and eat a healthy diet 

    Do steady and routine exercise and eat healthy food to improve your health calm your mind and be focused on your living life despite fertility problems. 

Seek support

People may be conscious about infertility and it is a very personal issue, this can be discussed with your partner, close family members friends or professionals for support. Many online support groups allow you to discuss issues related to infertility without knowing your identity.
