Spinach Kiwi (short for its official name kiwifruit) is actually a large fruit that grows on a type of woody vine in the genus Actinidia. Kiwis are famously native to New Zealand, but this bold berry actually originates from eastern China. 

Kiwis are usually oval in shape and about the size of a regular hen’s egg. The skin is camel coloured and scaly, covered with light scales. Despite being covered in hair, the peel of the kiwi is sour and edible. The pulp of the kiwi is bright green, has a unique and pleasant texture, and contains distinctive small black seeds, which are also edible. Kiwi has a rich, sweet and tangy flavour that makes it a popular choice for a healthy breakfast or lunch.
