Shavasana is a very beneficial asana. In Sanskrit the word sava means corpse, while doing this asana one has to lie down like a dead person. “Savasana” is the posture of lying quietly with the body completely relaxed and the mind still. This asana has to be done keeping the mind away from all thoughts for some time.

Benefit

Normal blood circulation of the body..

This asana has a significant effect on the blood circulation of the body. Shavasana is effective in keeping blood circulation normal. While doing any asana the blood circulation in some parts of our body is obstructed; But while resting in shavasana, blood circulation is equal in all those parts of the body. So it can be said that this asana helps to keep our body healthy and active.

Beneficial for high blood pressure patients

When we stand or sit somewhere, the heart has to work against gravity to increase blood flow from our legs to our head. During savasana, the effect of gravity falls equally on all parts of our body, due to which blood circulation is correct; As a result, there is sufficient blood flow to all parts of the body without putting too much pressure on the heart. So if people suffering from high blood pressure do shavasana regularly for 20 to 30 minutes, they will get a lot of benefits.

Nerves in the body work better

As a result of Shavasana, all the nerves in our body work better, which reduces the chances of nerve related problems in future.
