It is amazing to see your baby’s complex development and progress at 8 weeks pregnant.

Size:

Babies grow quickly and measure about 1.6 cm and 0.7 inches (1.8 cm) from the top of the head to the ribs. She’s still young, but she’s grown a lot since being pregnant. 

Organ Formation:

Major body organs are still growing and developing during the 8th week of pregnancy. The heart, brain, lungs, liver and kidneys are much larger. 

Face:

Your baby’s features are starting to differentiate. Although it still looks quite old, its facial features such as mouth, nose and eyes are well developed. 

Limb Development:

As your baby’s limbs develop, their legs and arms become longer and more defined. He is still webbed, but his little fingers and toes are starting to develop. 

Internal System:

Your baby’s internal system is still growing but not yet fully developed. As the intestines begin to take shape, the digestive system also begins to develop. 

Accelerated Growth:

Your baby starts growing rapidly from the 8th week of pregnancy. Although you may no longer feel these movements, your baby is becoming more sensitive and active.

Sexual development 

The baby’s reproductive organs are formed by the 8th week of pregnancy. However, it is still too early to determine the sex of your baby by ultrasound. 

Symptoms and changes in the mother’s body during the 8th week of pregnancy: 

Morning sickness and nausea:

Many women complain of persistent nausea accompanied by vomiting, especially in the morning. However, this can happen at any time of the day. 

Increased fatigue:

Hormonal changes and the demands of early pregnancy may make you feel more tired and need extra rest. Breast changes: As your breasts prepare to produce milk, they may become more painful, sensitive, or swollen. 

Mood changes:

Hormonal changes can cause mood swings, making women more emotional or sensitive than usual. 

Food cravings and aversions:

Some women experience strong cravings for certain foods and avoidance of others. Increased urination: During the 8th week of pregnancy, your uterus grows, putting pressure on your bladder and requiring you to go to the bathroom more frequently. 

Digestive problems:

Hormonal changes can slow down digestion and sometimes cause constipation and bloating. 

Heightened sense of smell:

Many women become more sensitive to smell during pregnancy, and certain smells can make you feel nauseous or even irritable. 

Skin changes:

Some women notice changes in the skin like oiliness, acne and age spots in some areas. 

Weight gain:

Some women gain weight gradually as their body changes and their baby grows.
