The work of the World Health Organization

The World Health Organization is a subsidiary organization or agency of the United Nations. The World Health Organization plays a coordinating role in international public health. The World Health Organization was established on April 7, 1948. Its headquarters are located in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization is headed by a Director-General who is nominated by the World Health Assembly.

The World Health Organization’s constitution defines health as a state of well-being at the physical, mental and social levels. And explained to them individually that if a person has any disease or illness, that he is too early to say healthy, because it does not take into account the state of mental stability and social factors. WHO member countries sign the Charter that in fact every person has the right to enjoy the highest attainable standard of health, and that any government’s success in health matters is most valuable.

Empowered to revise the international nomenclature of diseases, causes of death and public health services, WHO may develop, establish and promote inter-national standards relating to food, biological, pharmaceutical and similar substances.

UNICEF is the name of a specialized agency of the United Nations. It conducts activities related to child rights development and safety of children.

Public health is an important issue for peace and security, and it depends on the degree of cooperation of individuals and the United States. Disparities in public health and disease control development are not a common fear in different regions of the world. Child health is a factor of utmost importance. A prerequisite for a high level of health – modern medicine provides the opportunity to enjoy all the achievements.
