The prevalence of Parkinson’s disease has doubled in the past 25 years, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). 8.5 million people were affected by this condition worldwide in 2019.As there is no remedy for the condition, early detection plays a crucial role, in particular by providing a better quality of life to assigned people.

Symptoms vary from person to person. However, anosmia often appears as an early indication. According to the NHS, the loss of odor (anosmia) sometimes occurs several years before the development of other symptoms. Identifying it rather than rejecting it is crucial for early detection of the disease.
