Be careful! A dangerous beauty trend that claims to cure acne may increase the risk of skin cancer. However, none of these recommendations are supported by science, and many of them can cause more harm than good and can sometimes be life-threatening.  Health experts have described Tik Tok’s latest trend as “dangerous” and advised people to sunbathe to avoid acne. 

A group of social media influencers posted a video of themselves sunbathing on the beach without sunscreen: ‘Sun and salt water can burn acne’, reports The Standard, but experts don’t believe the advice as they follow it. 

“Skin redness” has a high risk of skin cancer and can cause lifelong health problems “Getting enough sunlight is good for your health, but you should use sunscreen to reduce your risk of skin cancer. 

“They start on sun-exposed skin, but can also spread to other parts of the body, such as the nose.  and throat are rare, and although melanoma accounts for 1 percent of all skin cancers, it accounts for the majority of cancer deaths, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS).

The risk of melanoma increases with age, with an average age of diagnosis of 66 years.  However, it is one of the most common types of cancer in young people, affecting people under the age of 30.
